How to flip an image or graphic in Canva

Today, I would like to acknowledge the Yuggera people as the Traditional Owners of the beautiful land I am standing on today. From the mountains to the river, I open my heart and my eyes as I walk this land, listening, learning and caring for Country. I want to extend this respect to Elders; past, present and emerging and to all First Nations peoples reading this post today. We are all remembered here.

Just so you know, this post does contain sponsored content through the use of affiliate links, my proud partnerships and my own products and resources and I want to thank each of you for continuing to use my affiliate links to support the work I do. As you know, each blog post is based on my own experiences, opinions, and what I have been taught, and does not represent all First Nations peoples or Communities. Please remember that, connecting with your local First Nations Community is always the most respectful way for you to embed First Nations content specific to your area.

How to flip an image or graphic in Canva

Have you ever been looking at an image and or a graphic and just thought "mmm yeah I really need that facing the other way!" Well instead of changing all of your other text or graphics on your page so that it fits around one particular image, there is a quick Canva solution to flip that particular image so that it fits the rest of the graphic that you are designing. And... would you believe it is super simple, so let's get started!

1. Select your image

The first thing you want to do, is select the image or the graphic that you want to flip. Once you've done this, add it to your page and click it.

2.

Once you can see that your image or graphic is selected (with a purple box around it), then you want to go up to the 'Flip' button at the top left of the page. You're going to click that button and then a small menu is going to drop down underneath the 'Flip' button.

3.

After this, you have two choices, you can either:

- Select flip horizontal

- Select flip vertical

Choose whichever one you need dependent upon what you need your picture to look like on your design.

If you're not too sure about which one to use, don't worry too much, just select one and if you don't like the way your image your graphic looks, then just click that button again and it will return your image or graphic back to the way it was. You can then try the other button giving you the opportunity to see how the other flip button looks.
